Volunteer

Freestyle Vancouver only works with the help of our generous volunteers! The goal of the club is to make volunteering easy. Below is a list of positions that need to be filled throughout the season. This is a list that is always changing as the season moves along. There are many areas you can help with, from events to being a board member. Some positions are on the mountain and some are off the mountain.  Every family in the Club is expected to volunteer a minimum of five (5) days each season.

Volunteer Time & Requirements

  • 2-10 hours required
  • Less involvement is needed as the season goes on

Location

  • Cypress and Grouse

Parents who sign up for this position will have athletes on that mountain that particular day. For example, if your athlete skis only Sunday at Grouse, you will only be required to be the liaison for Sunday at Grouse.

This is also a great position to share with another parent. This is a position where communication between parents, athletes, coaches, mountain staff and the board takes place.

The goal here is to assist the coaching staff to get the athletes onto the snow as quick as possible. Relay any changes that have been made to scheduling and provide general follow up on email communications. You will also need to communicate back to the board or coaching staff.

You will be required to attend one to two board meeting during the season. General requirement for the position is someone who can be on time (no one is taking attendance) and a smile.

Parents who sign up for this position like to do the physical work and like to work in a group. It is an opportunity to work directly with our professional coaching staff. This is a shared position with as many parents we can get.

Volunteers for this position will have a day pass provided. Example of the work is maintaining the fence on the mogul run at Cypress or jump building on Friday nights. Grouse will also require a fence maintenance crew later in the season.

Parents who sign up for this position like to work with a group, organize, and take on small project. This is a shared position with as many parents we can get.

Volunteers for this position will have a day pass provided for the days of the event. There are many jobs that need to be filled but in general they involve organization, planning and implementation.

  • 16-24 hours required
  • Training and/or certification is required

Position Difficulty

  • Expert

Location

  • Cypress and Grouse

Parents who sign up for this position like to directly involve in competition and are will to take on training. There are many jobs that need to be filled but in general they involve organization, planning and implementation.

Volunteer

  • 24-100 hours required
  • Require to attend board meetings once a month for 3 hours minimum

Position Difficulty

  • Expert

This is an opportunity to get involve with the general running of the club. This position is open to any a parent of a club member. There are many position available within the board that are open. Most positions can be shared.
