Freestyle Vancouver believes that everyone in the sport has the right to enjoy it at whatever level or position. Athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers have the right to participate in safe and inclusive training and competitive environments free of maltreatment.
Sports organizations in British Columbia are committed to creating a sports environment that is accessible, inclusive, and respectful of their participant’s personal goals and is free from all forms of Maltreatment. As part of Freestyle BC’s commitment to SafeSport, our staff and board have completed Commit to Kids training. Our policies are aligned with Freestyle Canada and viasport to ensure we have the best standards of practice and independent third-party reporting.
The Freestyle Vancouver Safe Sport program will focus on three key areas: education, prevention and response, all of which will be supported by strong governance, policies and procedures. The goal is to ensure that all members and registrants at all levels have the resources to provide and access a fun, healthy, inclusive, and safe environment.
